UASA Media Release: 06 June 2023
Statement by Abigail Moyo, spokesperson of the trade union UASA:
The lower fuel price brings relief to workers struggling to make ends meet in the current economic circumstances.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy announced that as of midnight today, both grades of petrol are set to decrease by 71c a litre, while both grades of diesel will drop by 80c and 84c a litre, respectively.
The price of wholesale illuminating paraffin is set to decrease by 43c a litre. LPGas will increase by 75c per kg.
We hope the lower prices of average international products such as petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin continue for financially stressed workers who wish to save a few rands for their household needs.
