Statement by Abigail Moyo, spokesperson of the trade union UASA:
UASA successfully signed an Allied Demands Delegated to Plant Level under auspices of the Amanzi Bargaining Council on behalf of its members at Rand Water.
The agreement, effective from 01 July 2024, is as follows:
- An increase of 10% of the Total Cost to Company (TCTC) on the Acting Allowance.
- An average Consumer Price Inflation (CPI) increase of 5.7% once-off for the Firefighting and First Aid Allowances.
- A 6% increase in Meal Allowances for employees in the districts who are currently receiving meal allowances, Bulk Water.
- An increase by average CPI of 5.7% for Tool Allowance.
We thank the UASA representatives for their unwavering commitment and dedication to labour relations matters. Their efforts in collective bargaining have been instrumental in securing this agreement for the greater benefit of our members.
