Statement by Abigail Moyo, spokesperson of the trade union UASA
UASA, representing organised labour, is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of a collective wage agreement with a 7% increase, effective 1 July 2025, under the Amanzi Bargaining Council (ABC).
This wage increase, combined with a housing allowance of R3,900 per month for each employee, aims to significantly improve the financial well-being of workers and their families. We look forward to continuing discussions on additional benefits, including medical aid contributions and various allowances.
We appreciate our dedicated bargaining team and the support of our members in reaching this beneficial agreement.
Considering the current economic challenges, we commend the employers within the Amanzi Bargaining Council for their commitment to this increase and hope other employers will pursue similar supportive measures for their employees.
