Statement by Abigail Moyo, spokesperson of the trade union UASA:
UASA recently achieved a significant milestone by securing organisational rights at Scholtz Industrial Solutions in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng. The agreement allows the union to offer more support to workers and start building a stronger relationship between employees and management. UASA also held its first on-site meeting with members, laying the foundation for labour practices within the organisation.
The agreement empowers UASA to organise members, advocate for fair and equitable working conditions and ensure that workers’ voices are effectively represented. With organisational rights in place, UASA is able to provide labour law training to members, address health and safety concerns and promote compliance with workplace standards designed to protect employees.
UASA remains committed to advancing workers’ rights and fostering constructive dialogue with employers to create an environment that values employee welfare, fairness and productivity.
This development reflects UASA’s ongoing commitment to expanding its presence in key sectors while upholding its core mandate to protect and promote the interests of its members. We look forward to building on this foundation to deliver tangible benefits to employees at Scholtz Industrial Solutions.
We thank the UASA team for their dedication and hard work in positioning UASA as the best union for progressive growth for workers in the world of work.
