UASA Media Release: 18 September 2025
Statement by Abigail Moyo, spokesperson of the trade union UASA:
UASA is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of plant-level wage negotiations at Thembisa Trading T/A Crunch ’n Munch in Cape Town. Through effective collective bargaining, a signed agreement has been reached between labour and the employer, resulting in a 7.5% across-the-board annual wage increase for 2025 for UASA members and all workers employed by the company.
This agreement represents a significant victory for UASA members. In a challenging economy marked by rising living costs, this increase offers meaningful financial relief, allowing workers to provide better support for their families and improve their standard of living.
Fair and sustainable wage agreements are essential for enhancing the lives of workers. By working together, it is possible to find resolutions that benefit employees while also supporting business sustainability.
We commend Thembisa Trading T/A Crunch ’n Munch for signing such a viable wage increase, which empowers workers to navigate today’s challenging economic climate.
UASA will continue to pursue negotiations that deliver tangible benefits for workers and positively impact their lives.
