Statement by Abigail Moyo, spokesperson of the trade union UASA:
UASA extends its heartfelt wishes to Johan Steyn, our Operational Manager (Specialist Division), as he embarks on a well-deserved retirement.
Following his contributions to the growth and success of the specialist division, Johan goes on retirement after 13 years of dedicated service to UASA.
Throughout his career, Johan has been a key figure in various boards and committees, including the Hairdressing, Beauty & Skincare Industry (HBSI) Pension Fund Board of Trustees, NEC & Sick Funds Management Committee, and the Metal and Engineering Industries Bargaining Council (MEIBC) Regional Council. His influence on labour has significantly shaped UASA’s operations and members’ benefits.
UASA CEO Mr. Jacques Hugo expressed heartfelt gratitude for Johan’s hard work to UASA. On behalf of the UASA team, he wished him the best of luck in this new chapter of his life.
