UASA Media Release: 4 June 2024

Statement by Abigail Moyo, spokesperson of the trade union UASA:

UASA welcomes the relief that has been the trend for much of May, fuel recoveries have been in motorists’ favour, with both petrol and diesel showing over-recoveries for the month.

Fuel prices dropping significantly. As of midnight tonight, motorists will pay R1.24/L less for both 93 unleaded and 95 unleaded petrol.

According to the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), wholesale diesel will cost between R1.09 & R1.19/L less.

With LP Gas that will decrease by R1.35/kg and consumers who depend on paraffin for cooking and other household use can expect to pay 80c/L less for illuminating paraffin.

We encourage our members and fellow South Africans to use the decrease to their advantage and spend their money wisely.
