UASA warns South Africans and our members to heed the call by the president to protect themselves and others during this pandemic.

The Covid-19 resurgence in Nelson Mandela Bay – where medical facilities are battling to cope and are fighting to keep patients alive while facing a shortage of beds and too few oxygen points to assist those who need it – holds a lesson for all of us.

If we don’t adhere to the coronavirus measures we risk the country going back to harsher lockdown restrictions, which will stifle any progress we have made towards containing the virus and kick-starting the economy.

The festive season is upon us and we can’t afford a resurgence. Please continue wearing a mask, washing your hands regularly and keeping your distance from others. We are not out of danger yet.
