The South African Police Service (SAPS) are doing a great job in often the most difficult of circumstances. While UASA acknowledges there are some rotten elements in the force, we know that the good outweighs the bad and we support the SAPS in its endeavours.
On Sunday, 1 September 2019, SAPS will host its annual National Commemoration Day in remembrance of police officers and reservists who lost their lives while performing their duties. Minister of Police General Bheki Cele, his deputy, Mr Cassel Mathale, and the National Commissioner of the SAPS, General Khehla Sitole will, together with the next of kin of the fallen officers, lay wreaths in honour of the commemorated personnel. The commemoration will be held at the SAPS Memorial site at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
UASA acknowledges and honours those that died fighting crime in service to their country. To the SAPS members working in often life-threatening environments: We see your hard work to help make South Africa a safer country. We wish you protection and safety while performing your duty.
