UASA in collaboration with the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and Platinum Health is pleased to announce a successful negotiation of 50% for collective bargaining rights for our members in the Platinum Industry.
This coalition comes as a result of Platinum Health’s direct relationship with our members as they are health service providers through hospitals, clinics and pharmacies that offers medical supplies for our members in Rustenburg and Burgersfort mining areas.
Since the establishment of Platinum Health, this is the first time the unions have engaged in negotiations striving to acquire bargaining rights that will successfully enable UASA and NUM look after their members interests adequately.
Through successful negotiations, all parties agreed on the following: 5.5% increase on package and long service awards as follows: Employees with 5 years’ service will receive R2500, 10 years’ service employees to receive R5000, 15 years’ service employees to receive R7500 and 20 years’ service employees to receive R10 000.
To all UASA members who are involved with Platinum Health, we believe that this win comes at a good time especially during the current economic status as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and that these package increases will go a long way to assist our members financially during the festive season.
We continue to celebrate our success for the wellbeing and financial benefit of all our members, while looking forward to a promising 2021.
