Wage negotiations in the sugar industry have reached a deadlock. Employers are offering a mere 4.1% wage increase, which is a slap in the face of workers and far from the demand of UASA’s members.
We are, therefore, in a process in line with UASA’s Constitution, of a secret ballot and the outcome might be that our members want to embark on a protected legal strike.
In the meantime, parties have compiled the required rules for Employees/Employers relationship to prepare for possible protected strike action.
