UASA welcomes level 2 as a necessary intervention

UASA welcomes the adjusted alert level 2 lockdown with effect from midnight as announced by Pres. Cyril Ramaphosa last night.

As we don’t know yet how severe this wave will be or for how long it will last, the stricter lockdown level is a necessary intervention that will help curb the rising number of infections.

Few industries will be negatively affected by level 2. To keep it this way, UASA urges South Africans to be responsible and play their part in preventing the spread of the virus.

With enough vaccines secured to vaccinate 40 million adults, we encourage South Africans to register and receive their jabs accordingly. This will ensure that we get our country back on its feet with our people safe against the virus.

UASA strongly recommends that our members and other South Africans continue their vigilance against the Coronavirus. We can’t afford more deaths as a result of the pandemic, and neither can we afford to return to stricter lockdown restrictions as that will cripple our already struggling economy.

Remember to protect yourself and those around you by following all safety and health regulations. Your safety and the safety of those close to you is important.
