Denel in breach of contract with employees

UASA is incensed at the news that state-owned company Denel did not make third party payment towards UIF, SARS, or pension funds on behalf of its employees for the month of April.

This means Denel employees will not be able to claim for UIF should they need to do so, given the difficult and unprecedented times we live in.

UASA understands that company contributions towards workers’ medical aid have been paid.

Last year Denel was in the news for not being able to pay the salaries at the company. At the time workers were called on to bear with the company with group CEO Daniel du Toit, asking workers to support each other and remain united in defending the best interests of Denel and that the company was working tirelessly to rectify the crisis.

UASA hopes that workers are not again running the risk of not being paid and rendered unable to feed their families or pay their bills due to Denel’s inefficient management.
