Lower fuel prices will assist in jumpstarting the economy

As from tomorrow, Wednesday, 6 May 2020, the fuel price will be at its lowest since September 2016.

The Department of Energy announced the petrol price will decline by another R1,74/ℓ to R12,22/ ℓ for 95 ULP. The price of diesel will fall by R1,56/ ℓ and the price of paraffin by R2,97/ ℓ. Gas decreases by R2.62/kg.

UASA urges suppliers of household products to pass on the price decreases to the consumer, many of whom are facing difficult times financially due to the coronavirus pandemic. The cut in petrol will also go a long way in assisting South Africa as we are slowly starting up the economy under level 4 regulations, many private commuters will enjoy the extra savings.
