UASA welcomes the incremental lifting of lockdown measures as from 1 May

UASA is pleased that some of the lockdown restrictions will be lifted as from 1 May 2020, while we are, at the same time, also reassured by the remaining strict measures towards containing the spread of the virus as much as possible.

The five alert levels and the objectives of each will go a long way towards the public understanding the correct approach to the various levels of the outbreak we may experience in the months to come.

Resuming some economic activities will give an early start to the repair work that will be urgently required to fix the economy of South Africa going forward.

UASA is impressed with the way the Presidency and the rest of the government team have handled the coronavirus threat to our nation, in particular the clear communication from the president to the nation, and statistics regarding the pandemic coming directly from the Department of Health to keep all citizens equally informed.
