Lower fuel and gas prices bring relief to workers

As from midnight tonight the fuel price will decrease for the third time in three consecutive months, bringing further relief to South African workers’ transport and household costs.

The price drop in illuminating paraffin means lower household expenses for millions of South Africans who use it for cooking an heating.

Petrol decreases by 19 cents per litre to R15,84 inland, diesel by 54 cents per litre to R13,49 inland while the price of wholesale illuminating paraffin drops by 68c per litre and SMNRP by 91 cents a litre.

UASA is pleased with the price drop and hopes that manufacturers and suppliers of household products and the public transport sector will also cut their costs and put the difference in the workers pockets.
