UASA ready to sign agreement with Anglo, but AMCU postpones at the last minute

Wage negotiations between Anglo American Platinum, UASA and other unions broke down today after AMCU postponed signing of the agreement at the last minute.

UASA and the National Union of Mine Workers (NUM) were ready to sign as per the mandate received from their respective members.

As responsible unions, UASA and NUM requested the Mediator from the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) to place AMCU on terms so that tomorrow becomes the due date for the signing of the agreement.

The longer it takes to sign the agreement, the longer we are denying our members what is due to them.
