The foundation of UASA - The Union is laid through the establishment and functioning of branches. Where there are ten or more members in a workplace, a branch can be established. Representatives from each branch are in turn elected to serve on a sector committee. Sector committees elect representatives to serve on the National Executive Council (EXCO), which meets every quarter. The EXCO, once elected every four years, appoints a Management Committee (MANCOM), to look after the day-to-day affairs of UASA, in between EXCO meetings. EXCO
